Oh, Patrick Swayze!

When I heard Patrick Swayze had pancreatic cancer I didn't expect him to last this long. I've known a couple of people who died from it and the time between diagnosis and death was very short. Whilst usually my reaction to the deaths of people I don't know is limited to sympathy for their family, and, depending on the circumstances, perhaps horror at the things people do, I do feel quite sad about this, just for myself. I first saw him in North and South, which frankly was tosh, but he was lovely. Then I completely fell for him in Dirty Dancing, though of course that is the entirely cliched lure of the bad boy, really, winced for him in whichever film that was were he did his own stitches, and wept buckets over him in Ghost. I'm sure that now he has ended up with the bright sparkly lights, not the scary black things.
