Actually it was two years ago yesterday. It was such a fantastic day, only partly due to the wonderful show. Partly it was because I had slipped the leash at home and a lot of it was seeing my old friends again and spending all day gossiping and being girly. I remember thinking that if
dementordelta and all those others could get their arses across the Atlantic to see it, then I could damn well travel 200 miles, and I did. So I think there is a sense of accomplishment there too, a feeling that if I really want to do something badly enough, I'll make it happen. I just need to want it badly enough.
I'm hoping to go and the new Star Trek film today - it depends on what my in-laws are doing (babysitting issues). I really want to see it, to see Simon Pegg as Scotty (he has such a cute face) and just to see what it's like really. I've seen all the other films. I remember my Dad took me and my brother to see the first one in the falling down old cinema that Winchester had in those days. The rain (or at least we hoped it was the rain) dripped on us all the way through. It wasn't that great a film, either!
