Harry took a long swig of his beer and surreptitiously wiped his sweaty palm on his trouser leg. He had something important that he wanted to say to Draco. He had been trying to say it for several weeks, but each time, when it came to the crunch, something had always held him back. He was determined not to put it off any longer, if Draco would only stop talking and let him get a word in edgewise. He was complaining about his boss again, convinced that he, Draco, would be far superior in the role.
"Honestly," he said, oblivious to Harry's growing impatience,"it's just getting worse..."
Harry took a deep breath, he'd just have to come out with it. "Draco," he began.
"...everyday..."
"I love you."
"...less and less..." Draco stopped, frowning. "What?" he asked.
"I love you," Harry repeated. "And I hope you feel the same about me. Or at least that you can tolerate having me around." He grinned slightly uncertainly. "We've had this kind of, casual thing, for some time now, and I think it's time... That is, well, I'd like you to move in with me."
Draco appeared to think this over for a moment, then shrugged his shoulders.
"Okay," he said casually. "If you like. Anyway, I was telling you about Gibson..."
Harry stared. He knew that Draco could be self-absorbed but this took the biscuit! His outrage showed on his face and Draco began to laugh helplessly.
"Oh Harry," he gasped,"you're too easy to wind up." He calmed down and reached out to take Harry's hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't meant to upset you. I think it's a great idea, I'd been hoping that you might feel that way. I love you too, Harry." He smiled, the warm, genuine smile that made his eyes crinkle. Harry smiled back, filled with happiness and relief.
"So," Draco said, sitting back,"about Gibson..."
