So John Seargent has left Strictly

vickyduckyI think this is rather a shame, actually. The whole thing with John felt different than last year with Kate Garroway, but that may be just that I found her so excruciatingly annoying whereas JS is endearing. I do think it's all got rather out of hand though when this was the second lead on News at 10. I felt that even if he did carry on getting saved it had become as though he were a different part of the show - the other couples were having a dance competition and John and Christina were almost like the half-time entertainment, unrelated to the contest put part of it none-the-less.
James Jordan has obviously completely lost the plot though. The way he was going on last night on the extended It Takes Two making out that JS was doing this to gain more attention and focus everything on himself. Even if he really does think that (and it seems unlikely to me) he'd have been better to keep it to himself. He's clearly bitter because he's had the rough end of this particular stick twice in a row now - Gabby and Cherie. Anton was masterly by comparison - made a good point succinctly but avoided personal attack.
Oh and Brian Fortuna! The more I see of him the more I love him! I adore it when he does the critiques of the practice or the choreography. He talks sense! And isn't afraid to make quite pithy criticism but avoids the bitchy tone that Craig always seems to have. Craig often says sensible things but it's the way he says them. And then there are Brian's extraordinary eyebrows. And oh he can dance!
