Where did all this money come from?

vickyduckyAnd where did it go in the first place? I realise this is financially very naive of me but where does £50billion just disappear to? Are the banks all going "I know I put it down here somewhere but I just can't lay my hand on it,"? And if the government had £50billion up it's kilt all along why have I had to exercise pay restraint these last 20 odd years? I can't help thinking that if I had been refused Herceptin or some other expensive drug because of lack of funds I'd be bloody furious now. And if the government hasn't got the money stashed away already then were is it going to get it if it needs it? Presumably it can't get a loan from the banks.
On a lighter note but still bloody irritating why are the camera angles on Strictly so awful? It is a dance show I WANT TO SEE THEIR FEET! I appreciate that you dance with your whole body and that the producers feel the need to vary the shots to avoid the audience nodding off but having had Len tell us the jive was all about kicks and flicks most of Austen's performance was shown from the waist up! Yes he's got bulging biceps but I WANT TO SEE HIS FEET!
