In which I bore for Britain...
Jan. 2nd, 2010 03:16 pmHappy New Year, everybody. I hope it is a pleasant and prosperous one for you all, and for me too, of course.
( I had a very nice visit to my family... )
Because it's all over lj and the newspapers etc I've been trying to think of ( the main events of 2009 for me. )
And finally... today's writer's block is this: If you could be a member of any musical group, past or present, which group would you choose and why?
Which reminded me of an extremely vivid dream I had well over 10 years ago, but which I enjoyed so very much, I bored everybody about at the time, and still remember (don't worry, it's not one of those dreams). In it, for reasons that were never clear, Ray Davies of the Kinks came round to my house and asked me to be his backing singer. In real life I'm completely tone deaf and sing very very badly, but am a huge fan of the Kinks, so this was utter wish fulfillment. And, just to get even better, I made enough money gigging with Ray to only have to do my boring day job part-time. This was before I had a baby and got to really work part-time. If I were the sort of person who's lj was widely read and commented on, this is the point where I'd ask my flist to tell me their favourite/weirdest dream, but as I'm not, I won't (although I'm still curious).
