Nov. 4th, 2007 09:35 pmI watched the Parkinson with Daniel Radcliffe on it, the first one I've seen I think since he had Stephen Fry and George Michael on, and I was struck by how very small DR is. Not just that he is short (his feet didn't really reach the floor from the chair they gave him and it wasn't a bar stool or anything) but how very slight he is too. Also they showed a clip of 'My Boy Jack' and I just couldn't help thinking of the slug balancer in Blackadder goes forth (fourth?). Even Parky asked was it a real moustache and DR had to admit it wasn't.
Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders were on too, entertaining rather than sidesplittingly funny. Also Ray Winston, again quite interesting but not mind blowing. I realise that is a lot to expect from a chat show but all of these were so obviously only there to promote something. I suppose people only agree to go on chat shows these days if that is the case. I think it was always that to an extent but I seem to remember there being rather more interview somehow, about something other than what was being promoted. I suppose there was a bit of that, Parky asked about Equus and HP with DR but almost just in passing. Hm just getting old and harking backwards I suppose - "When I was a girl..." etc. What a terrible thought.
