(no subject)

So 40 came and went. Well strictly speaking it is still here for another 51 weeks but the fuss is all but over now. And of course, in spite of my insecurity, my workmates all dug deep and bought me champagne and flowers and a truly hilarious book. It is 'The World of Karl Pilkington' and it is the transcripts of podcasts that Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant do of them 'in conversation' with Karl Pilkington who is a sound engineer they ran into. Part of me feels that it is just RG especially being elitist and laughing at someone who has the misfortune to be ill educated but some of the truly bizarre things KP comes out with are impossible not to laugh at.

Mum and Dad bought me (at my request) an MP3 player so that I can listen to podcasts in my lunch hour or in the car. At first I couldn't get it to work and P kept saying 'only ipods can do podcasts' which pissed me off no end because I knew that wasn't true. But then i-tunes came to my rescue and I now have access to Slashcast and Pottercast. Am just off to look at what else is on offer so that I can find something I am prepared to own up to listening to to my parents!
