Daniel Radcliffe's recent MTV interview
Mar. 2nd, 2010 10:11 amI was quite surprised by how much older he seemed, although I can't think what/when the last interview of his was that I saw. I suppose it could have been the setting, the interviewer or just good editing, but he seemed much more relaxed and comfortable with himself than I've ever seen previously. Less like a labrador puppy desperate for attention and approval and more like a normal person. Although as he is getting on for 21 now and not fourteen anymore this shouldn't really be a surprise. His answers were considered and sensible and there weren't any of the cringy bits you used to get. In a way that's a shame, I suppose.
I do wish people would stop talking about them (the Potter cast) being 'old' in the epilogue. They're not ninety! Harry is 37, assuming my maths is correct, that's not even middle-aged for a wizard. Although I'll grant you that it probably seems very ancient to a 20 year old, it was the interviewer in this instance, and looking at him he was at least 37!
I wasn't clear if the 'How to succeed in Business etc' production was only going to be on Broadway, or would be here and in the US. As one of my theatre going buds is now living in France that may be moot anyway.
