What a difference small things can make...
Aug. 3rd, 2009 06:31 pmTwo weeks ago I had my blood pressure measured and it was pretty horrendous. I don't remember the top figure, but the bottom was 100, which is v.bad.
Since then I have had a few days holiday and, much more significantly I think, I have been told that at the end of the month I will be moving to a different section at work. I have been stuck on the section I am currently on for nearly three years, and it has very slowly driven me insane. It is the dumping ground for all the shite things no-one else can be bothered with or knows what to do about. The powers that be have now decided that it is too appalling to be done by one person and will now be spread about the whole department. I really don't care what they do with it - I'm going to be doing real science again!
So today my blood pressure was 130/80! Utterly exemplary for someone my age. And I feel so happy! Someone called at the house trying to sell me something and they remarked how cheerful I looked. Not so long ago in similar circs the sales person asked me if I was violent!
