I've watched two episodes of Andrew Marr's 'A History of Modern Britain' and it's been extremely fascinating. He has a very good style of presentation and a pithy turn of phrase. I'd like the book - may get it for Hols in Devon. Or, just had a genius thought, get it out of the library! I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but on the evidence of the two progs I've seen, especially the last one, all our prime ministers have been complete idiots. I suppose that this shouldn't come as a that much of a surprise given the ones whose time in office I have lived through, it's just the idea that before spin things were better.
