Under the cut is a tiny ficlet that I wrote for you. It’s my first attempt at fiction since I was 12 and wrote RPH staring me and Robin Cousins! So I feel rather as though I’m offering a stick figure I’ve drawn to Monet. I know lots of much more talented people have written this scenario many times before but I hope it doesn’t make you cringe too badly.
ETA unflocked now because Fran asked, and it is hers after all. I suppose I should add that it's EWE and a bit of sugary fluff. Oh and be kind.
With a sharp crack Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy apparated into the living room of no 12 Grimauld Place. It was dark except for a strip of light cast by the streetlamp outside the window.
“Well, we’re here in one piece” Draco said, not a little relieved. He was less sober than he liked to be when apparating.
“At least, you are in one piece aren’t you? I don’t want to have search the Home Counties for your body parts.”
Harry nodded. “Yeah, just a bit – whoah!” the floor had lurched up at him alarmingly as he tried to move and reflexively he grabbed onto Draco.
“Are you really shitfaced or is this just an excuse to keep putting your arms around me?”
“I think it was just the beer and apparition combination. I felt a bit dizzy but I’m ok now” Harry replied.
“And yet you’re still holding onto me.”
“Yeah, I am aren’t I?” Harry was now pressed closely up against Draco from chest to thigh. “And you don’t seem to be objecting.”
And then he kissed him, a soft, swift swipe of lips. Harry drew back and then kissed Draco again, shifting slightly, and drawing him closer as Draco opened his mouth returning the kiss.
Suddenly Ron’s voice yelled “Lumous maximus” followed by a chorus of “Surprise” as the lights went on.
Blinking in the glare Harry and Draco turned to stare at Harry’s assembled friends and colleagues who stared back, aghast.
Draco smirked. “Understatement of the year by the looks on their faces” he said taking Harry in his arms again. “Happy Birthday, love.”
