Draco rolled over in bed and propped himself up on his elbows, the better to watch Harry as he dressed.

"Remind me again why you're doing this?" he asked

Harry, perched on the edge of the bed putting on his shoes, sighed.  "Because I promised Gin."

"Ah yes.  And explain to me, can you, why any woman would insist that her fiance take part in a bachelor auction?"

"Because," Harry said, standing up, "my name on the posters guarantees a good crowd.  Anyway, I've got to go."  He bent to give Draco a goodbye kiss and was surprised with a rather more passionate response than he had expected.

"That's to give you something to think about when you're with whichever desperate housewife wins you," Draco smirked.  Harry sighed again as he disapparated.

The auction had been in full swing for nearly an hour by the time it was Harry's turn to be bid for.  He shuffled onto the stage at one end of the Leaky Cauldron's function room and tried not to die of embarrassment as witches old enough to be his mother whistled and cat-called.  He could see Ginny in the wings gesturing for him to stand up straighter and put his shoulders back.  "Smile!" she mouthed.

Madame Mead, who was in charge of proceedings, gave Harry a sympathetic look, before turning to the crowd and whipping it into an even greater frenzy.  Bidding began at an unprecedented 25 Galleons and rose steadily, until at 75 Galleons Madame Mead raised her gavel, "With you then Madam, at 75 Galleons.  Are we all done?"  She looked pointedly around the room but nobody spoke up.  "Going once," she paused, "going twice.  This is your last chance ladies, going..."

"Two hundred galleons - cash," came a voice from the back.  A horribly familiar, male voice.  Harry's head snapped up as the room filled with astonished muttering.

"Two hundred?" Madame Mead repeated in disbelief.

"In cash."  There was uproar as it became apparent who the bidder was.  None other than bad boy extraordinaire Draco Malfoy was shouldering his way towards the stage.

"Mr Malfoy," Madame Mead said heavily, "I cannot accept your bid, this is a 'witches only' event."

Draco raised one perfectly plucked eyebrow.  "Really?  I studied the publicity material most carefully," he glanced at Harry, "and there was no mention of any restrictions.  So unless anyone outbids me, I'd say Harry's mine."  He smiled beatifically at Madame Mead as he placed a large and obviously weighty moneybag in front of her, and turning to Harry held out his hand, "Come on Potter, lets get out of here."

"Hands off, Malfoy!"  Ginny Weasley stormed onto the stage.  "I don't know what your game is, but leave Harry out of it!"

"My game?  I just made a very generous contribution to your charity and in return I get to spend the evening, and who knows what else, with your charming fiance," Draco smirked.

Ginny crossed her arms and the room held its collective breath.  "As if!  Harry would never even consider such a thing!"

The silence was deafening.

"Oh yes I will!"

Every head turned to stare at Harry.  "I mean, well he made the highest bid and it's for a good cause and... Oh fuck it!"  He jumped down from the stage, took Draco in his arms and kissed him, long and hard.  "And I love him."
